Wild Boar Cubs Rescued in Kot Addu: Wali Bukhari Plays Pivotal Role

With the permission of the Area Magistrate in Kot Addu, the cubs were safely released into their natural habitat at Lashari Wala Jungle, part of the Taunsa Barrage Wildlife Game Sanctuary in Kot Addu.

We are pleased to express our heartfelt gratitude to the Wildlife Department of Kot Addu and Muzaffargarh for their swift and effective response to our request for a wildlife rescue operation. The initiative began after we received a video showing two distressed wild boar cubs in need of urgent help.

Under the leadership of Mr. Abdul Razzaq, Assistant Director of Wildlife Muzaffargarh, and the supervision of Wildlife Inspector Mr. Mushtaq Ahmed, a dedicated rescue team was assembled with Wali Bukhari. The team included Muhammad Aamir Rasheed, Head Wildlife Watcher from the Taunsa Wildlife Game Sanctuary, along with social activists Mukhtar Bhutta and Wali Bukhari.

On July 20, the team successfully carried out a raid at the reported location, rescuing the two cubs and taking them into safe custody. With the permission of the Area Magistrate in Kot Addu, the cubs were safely released into their natural habitat at Lashari Wala Jungle, part of the Taunsa Barrage Wildlife Game Sanctuary in Kot Addu.

We also extend our sincere thanks to Mazhar Ahmad for providing essential logistical support and to Munwar Bhutta for his cooperation during the operation.

The Civil Society of Kot Addu deeply appreciates the Wildlife Department’s timely and effective action, which ensured the safety and well-being of these precious wild animals.
